4th As Light Dies ‪#‎geaep2015‬ review (Zephyr’s Odem, Germany) (7,5/10)

Dazu hat sich As Light Dies den Song ‘As Fire Swept Clean The Earth’ rausgepickt.

Interview with DarkDoomGrindDeath blogspot

http://darkdoomgrinddeath.blogspot.com/2015/07/as-light-dies.html As Light Dies 1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording of the new ep? Many things. This EP was recorded back in 2006 two months after we recorded our first album “A step through the reflection”. The band released 2 albums from then till now. The last one is “TLA vol.1”. 2.You have a new ep coming out at the end of June, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past? I assume that you consider that we have recorded this stuff recently, but GEA is old stuff. The other track is one song included in the tribute to Enslaved in which we participate in 2012. Many things changed because the band was another people. 3.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music? This lyrical concept was about the negative influence of mankind over the nature in terms of contamination and in terms of spirituality. 4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name ‘As Light Dies’? The meaning is about that all the magic use to happen when the light starts to fade away. 5.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance? It is really difficult to choose our best show. All the members have different opinions about it. Some shows were special because we played fine, others because the energy of...

3rd As Light Dies ‪#‎geaep2015‬ review (Metal Hammer IT, Italy)

2nd As Light Dies ‪#‎geaep2015‬ review (Metal Revews) (79/100)

2nd As Light Dies ‪#‎geaep2015‬ review (Metal Revews) (79/100): It is hard to say that it would be interesting to see what the band will provide in the future, as the future is now the recent past, so I can only say that the potential shown on Gea got realized on The Love Album. http://www.metalreviews.com/reviews/album/9171 I have begun my acquaintance with Spanish black avant-gardists As Light Dies sort of from the back, with their latest The Love Album – Volume I. And I am confident that so did many others. Yet before The Love Album appeared to challenge our minds and our senses As Light Dies experimented to find their direction, as manifested by the re-release of the re-mastered EP Gea, originally recorded way back in 2006. Listening to Gea one might get a feeling of what is to come later, but only in glimpses. Connected by the Earthly topic, naming songs after various names our planet is known by, As Light Dies was a lot closer to the ambient side than they came to be on The Love Album. Opening instrumental Terra and Gaia are very ambient pieces, Terra providing watery synth dissolution with its trembling keys, while Gaiahas more full orchestral character with its symphonic arrangements. Sounding a lot like a chamber orchestra previewing a Tchaikovsky-like composition about nature seasons, As Light Dies showcase what probably is their more formal music education. Title track is where As Light Dies would ultimately arrive a few years later. The band is anything but a clearly defined straightforward style now, and Gea is a showcase of a layered, multiple genre...
